Reflections:

Life has an uncanny way of teaching us lessons through the simplest experiences. I have varying interests that in my realisation, are building blocks to a wholesome and happy life I cherish today. These interests followed a natural progression, one that I could express as a ripple effect or even compounding. I would like to start off with the health part of it, taking it back to my early days.

Diet:

Our diet growing up was not the best, not the worst either because we had no access to these modern fast foods but carbohydrates were a big part of our diet. We were also quite active and did a lot of walking to and from school, running errands and spent a lot of time outside, amongst other activities. Perhaps to some extent that made up for what we were consuming. We were never sick so doctors’ visits were a strange concept. We had absolutely no idea what we should or shouldn’t have been eating. This was not known, never formed part of daily conversations, everybody ate the same thing and it was all normal. These were simple times when the concepts of “healthy eating” or “nutrition” were non-existent. What you ate was not a question, it was a norm.
